We are pretty excited to launch this new blog series on our website! In the past we simply shared photos from our travels whether we were adventuring on photo work trips or simply because our hearts were taking us to these places. This year however, we started drifting into a new avenue of our business. We figured if we are already traveling the globe consistently (about every 3-6 months) then why not blog about the places we are experiencing? We’ve been so excited to see some of our experiences inspire others to get out there and travel, as well as contributing to the growth of so many small yet deserving businesses out there! These two reasons alone give us enough satisfaction to explore into this new venture of Travel Blogging.
Yes, we are still photographers. And we still travel for destination weddings and lifestyle work. But it is our intention that this new avenue of blogging continue to spark the travel spirit in our online community and give praise to all of the beautiful cultures, small businesses, and places worth seeing.
We promise to only promote the places that have personally made our hearts happy. And we feel that everyone deserves to know where the best of the best is! We’re not huge fans of the “secret Instagram places”. That only people with thousands of followers deserve to see these beautiful sites and inspiring places. However, both being Native Hawaiian and being raised in the Hawaiian Islands, we highly value and respect our local sites and understand that other locals around the world feel the same way that we do. A lot of our hidden treasures here on the Hawaiian Islands are endangered, protected, or even private property. Living on these islands grants us the opportunity to experience sites that sometimes may not be shared with the public because either our family or friends own the land themselves. And we enter with an invitation.
So when sharing “insider” tips on Hawaii Island experiences, we promise to share all of our local favorites while still respecting the land and the people who dwell on it. And when sharing our “insider” tips on other places across the globe, we promise to do the same! We don’t believe in keeping specific Airbnb’s, cafe’s, and other sites a secret for ourselves because that could be damaging to the tourism and business that these small business owners rightly deserve! However, some sites that the locals feel should be kept a secret due to a potential cause of overpopulation needs to be taken seriously as well.
In some posts we will be sharing an overall travel journal of the sites we saw and the cultures we experienced. In other posts we will be giving you insider tips, suggestions on accommodations, reasonable timelines, good food, great drinks, the best experiences, and even the best surf spots (that we are allowed to share 😉
